My Friends

These figures are mostly made of broken shells, pebbles, and sea glass that I have collected or friends have given me. They are part of my Collect the Fragment Series because they follow my belief that we become more beautiful through our brokenness.  These remains of other things are my inspiration for new creations.

As I was putting together my found fragments, building little bodies, and carving faces, each figure started to develop unique attributes that I found endearing.  Mostly they make me smile when I think about their quirky compositions…and they feel like my friends.
